UK openings are listed below: Team Leader/Senior Analytical Chemist (Mass Spectroscopy) Almac Group - Craigavon Ref No: AS/SA/03 We are seeking an extremely talented Mass Spectroscopist to fill a challenging role. You must be a hardworking and enthusiastic individual, keen to develop your career within a rapidly expanding company. The successful candidate should have an in-depth technical understanding of the effective use of modern mass spectrometry in order to provide expertise on MS applications and methodologies to support both external and internal customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operation, preventative maintenance and trouble shooting of the mass spectrometer systems within the Analytical Department. These systems include LC-MSn, GC-MS, Q-TOF instruments from Applied Biosystems, Thermo Finnigan, Agilent Technology and Waters. You will be required to perform analysis of organic compounds for structural elucidation, impurity and metabolite identification, bioanalysis, radiochemical purity and protein sequencing. You will also assist analysts with data interpretation, work on method development projects and produce reports to high scientific standards. As a result, experience in HPLC and GC is essential and experience of complementary spectroscopic techniques (NMR, IR and UV) is desirable. You will be required to work in accordance with regulatory requirements (GMP/GLP), follow SOPs, and ensure that documentation is maintained. The work will involve validation activities such as equipment and method validation. As an acknowledged technical expert in mass spectrometry, the training and development of more junior spectroscopists and analysts will be an important part of your job. Engineering Placement Student Almac Group - Craigavon Ref No: AG/EP/07 Reporting to the Site Services Project Engineer, the Engineering Placement Student will be responsible for assisting with engineering matters relating to mechanical and electrical installations on site and design and build of civil projects e.g. new laboratories, office buildings etc. Work activities will also involve the collection, recording and analysis of data to aid the identification and implementation of energy saving measures. Molecular Biologist (Core Technology Lab). Diagnostics - Craigavon Ref No: AD/MB/02 The successful candidate will be responsible for the running of the QPCR facility as part of the Almac Diagnostics Core Technology Laboratory. He/She will work and liase closely with the Core Technology Laboratory Manager and the Technical R&D Laboratory Manager, to develop, validate and perform sample processing for customer Gene Expression projects, SNP Genotyping projects and internal R&D projects. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to perform sample processing for high throughput genomic technologies when required. This will involve working with other Almac departments and liasing with Project Managers to define their requirements, to allow accurate generation of customer and development projects. Research Project Managers Diagnostics - Craigavon Ref No: AD/PM/02 The successful candidate will utilise an extensive knowledge of the genetic, molecular, cellular, and epidemiological aspects of solid tumour cancers along with excellent organisational and project management skills and a solid knowledge of the application of microarray technology to establish relevant molecular subtypes of these diseases and develop reference databases of this information. Responsibilities will also include managing the planning, design, conduct and reporting of individual projects within the R&D division of the company . Analytical Team Leader Pharma Services - Craigavon Ref No: APS/ATL/02 Due to the rapid growth of the Product Development service offered by our Pharma Services division, a new vacancy in the Analytical Team has arisen. We are currently seeking to employ an individual to fulfill the role of Analytical Team Leader. You will be supervising the use of a wide range of modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV and IR spectrophotometry to support product development. Working in a regulated (FDA / MHRA) environment, the planning and supervision of method development/validation, Release testing & Stability Testing for clinical supplies will form part of the role. Hence excellent planning, and leadership skills, as well as scientific knowledge and an eye for detail are required. You will be a strong communicator and a good team player and you must be able to demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to the analytical development challenges presented by projects. We are currently seeking to employ people to fulfill the roles of Analyst, and Senior Analyst. You will be using a wide range of modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV and IR spectrophotometry to support product development. Working in a regulated (FDA / MHRA) environment, Release & Stability Testing of clinical supplies will form part of the role and hence excellent practical skills and an eye for detail is required. You will be a strong communicator and a good team player and you must be able to demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to the analytical development challenges presented by projects. Analyst Placement Students (1 year) Pharma Services - Craigavon Ref No: APS/A P/01 The successful candidates will be required to use a wide range of modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV and IR spectrophotometry to support Quality control and formulation/process development activities for solid oral dosage form products. Working in a fast paced cGMP regulated environment method development/validation, and/or release and stability testing of marketed and clinical trial materials will form part of the role. Hence excellent practical skills, a willingness to learn new things and an eye for detail are required. Senior Operators Grade 2 Pharma Services - Craigavon Ref No: APS/SO2/05 The successful candidates will be responsible for the effective running of process operations related to the manufacture and packaging of pharmaceuticals. Main duties will include ensuring that the machinery and staff within each operation work efficiently and effectively to generate products, which meet quality standards required. Process Operators Pharma Services - Craigavon Ref No: APS/PO/02 The role involves a range of tasks within our packaging department. These will include working as part of the team on one or our process lines packaging pharmaceuticals, operation of processing equipment, undertaking quality assurance checks and cleaning. Production Supervisor Pharma Services - Craigavon Ref No: APS/PS/02 The successful candidate will be responsible for supervision of processes and resources within the manufacturing and packaging departments. This will require effective management of human resources, processes, equipment and facilities and the maintenance of high standards of quality control. Also the candidate will work alongside other staff in developing process improvements. Quality Compliance Officer Sciences - Craigavon Ref No: AS/QCO/02 The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Almac Sciences Quality System in production, laboratory, validation and other GMP areas. They will act as a GMP adviser to operational departments within Almac Sciences. He/She will ensure that that the Almac Sciences Quality System is maintained in line with GMP, ICH Guidelines and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate shall assist with customer and Regulatory Statutory Inspections such as FDA and MHRA. Senior Analytical Chemist (Job Share) Sciences - Craigavon Ref No: AS/SAC/08 You will use a wide variety of analytical techniques in support of our chemistry projects and stand-alone analytical services.
